Windows 2000
The following steps will walk you through setting up your Internet connection
on a Windows 2000 machine. If you experience problems or have any questions, please
do not hesitate to contact us.
Double click on My Computer
Double click on Control Panel
Double click on Network and Dial-Up Connections
Double click on Make New Connection
- Click Next >
- Choose Dial-up to the Internet
- Click Next >
- Choose I want to set up my Internet connection manually, or I want to connect through a local area network (LAN).
- Click Next >
- Enter the telephone number as seen below.
(Stevens Point Area: 344-8656, Amherst Area: 592-6421).
- Uncheck Use area code and dialing rules
- Click Next >
- Enter your User name: and Password:
- Click Next >
- Enter MSWorldNet in Connection name:
- Click Next >
- Answer No when prompted to Setup Your Internet Mail Account
- Click Next >
- Uncheck the box asking if you want To Connect to the
Internet immediately, select this box and click Finish
- Click Finish >
- You're Finished!!! Welcome to the Internet!
